"Sid
is a remarkable individual who has brought our team to another
level of training through yoga. We value his contributions
to the success of our program!"
- Coach Janine Tucker / Women's Lacrosse John
Hopkins University
You
guys rock!!! I am a personal friend of Maria and Clayton.
Clayton is the one responsible for suggesting that I take
these classes. Since coming to your yoga classes, I've notice
changes in how my body is looking and most importantly the
way I feel emotionally and physically. Keep up the good
work and I love the way you push us in the class room. I
love that part.

Scott, Hanover, Pa., Marine Engineer
This
past off season I wanted to incorporate some cross training
into my exercise program. I had been curious about yoga
for some time, so I decided to join the I Do Yoga Studio
in Towson. Now I don't know what kind of experience you
guys have with yoga. I went into it thinking it would be
a good relaxing way to learn some stretching techniques
and maybe work on my core. Well in short, it totally kicked
my ass. ...I have been going at least twice a week since
October, and it has made a tremendous difference for me.
I'm starting this riding season stronger, more limber, and
focused than ever. A side benefit has been my level of stress
has dropped off considerably since I started. I'm trying
not to sound all preachy, but joining this studio has made
a big difference in my life. There are many benefits that
transfer directly to cycling such as increased strength,
balance, flexibility, and of course who couldn't use to
reduce their stress.
- Brian Flynn, Cyclist, Towson, MD
"I
think the Beginner class that I'm taking at I Do Yoga is
great. ...I've taken Vishwayatan yoga for the past 3 years
(one class per week) and am so glad I switched to this class.
My old class had the same exercises in the same order every
time! Not only can I attend more than once a week if my
schedule permits, but I know it will be a little different
than the last class, so won't get bored with it. I like
the fact that some of the postures are difficult and can
already feel the difference in my body after only 3 weeks
of classes. Having the unlimited membership option also
encourages me to go more than once a week!"

"A
day I'll never forget. My 8 year old daughter was having
what the teacher stated, "serious learning problems."
My spirited daughter was slowly loosing herself in second
grade. By december 2006 my daughter hated school, her life,
and did not want to move on in time. After numerous teacher,
scholl counsler meetings I was so angry, hurt, and feeling
defeated that I for some reason went on a search for "kid
stress release classes in Baltimore, Maryland!" My
computer and mouse brought me to I do yoga in Towson Maryland.
I clicked onto the website... I felt drawn. I emailed the
McNairy's with the complete saga of the lifeless child.
I explained how she was pushed out of class 4 out of 5 days,
and that this teacher said she needed medication and more.
Not only was my daughter loosing life, so was I. Within
20 minutes of sending that email of HELP I received a phone
call.
"The
voice on the other end was a voice from heaven. The only
words that came out from the caller was..."Get Lauryn
over to Our Studio Now!" Since the first day of entering
the studio not only has my one in need found refuge in God
and herself, but so have my other two daughters and I .
"My
daughter Lauryn is now in 3rd grade, NOT MEDICATED, and
is doing exceptional in school. When returning to school
this past September 2007, I was asked Numerous times...
"So what did the Doctor give Lauryn?" I could
only laugh and replied "NOTHING!!" Seeing mouths
dropped and wide open... I then smiled and said Lauryn is
high on life, she has found refuge in God thanks to yoga
and her Baba-Sid...for he believed in her soul. Peace and
Love Always."
-Carol, Meg, Stephanie, and LaLa (Lauryn)
"Thanks
for the email and the time that you have spent with me.
I look forward to coming to your studio DAILY. You are an
inspiration to me and I look up to you in many ways. You
are so encouraging and devoted to your students. I look
forward to many practices, Congratulations on your Towson
studio and now I dont know what I would do without your
practices. Many thanks and best wishes to you...."
- Stephanie Heister / Towson University
"It's
Mason from class today. I feel GREAT! right now after your
class. Even though it was (as always) an intense workout,
I have a ton of energy from it, so much so that I've already
unpacked, cleaned my room, done my laundry, done my roommates'
dishes, and started my semester's reading ahead of time.
So I just wanted to write you a little thank you note, and
say that it's good to be back. Namaste

"There
are not many opportunities that come along to allow you
to develop your body, mind, spirit, and psyche simultaneously.
I really enjoyed my 40 day journey, but I know it is just
the beginning of a lifelong one. Thank you."
-Dr. Carolyn Boulger Karlson, Dean of Graduate
Studies, Associate Professor of Management,
Baltimore, MD
"After
running for 25 years, I was tired of the chronic pain in
my lower back and hips. I found my way into Sid's studio
and was pain free by my tenth class (and a break from running).
It was a challenge for me to stay the first 5 classes because
I was use to running, maybe a piece of me enjoyed "running
off" the issues and stresses of life. When I got to
Lifeline yoga, I started "going within" and sitting
with my issues and stresses. Sid's yoga is completely different
from any yoga I have done over the years- from West coast
to East coast. I get an amazing workout and I come out of
each class with more inner peace. The studio feels as comfortable
as home and I can't wait to get to class. Sid, thank you
for helping me continue to go within and let go of things
that hold me up! Namaste."
-Susan
S. Whitehurst, Live Now, Towson, MD.
Sid
,I just wanted to thank you for being so welcoming after
my hiatus from yoga....I really do come to class every day
that I am off work. If I am MIA it is only because I am
on a long stretch at the hospital. Thank you for bringing
your type of yoga to Baltimore. I enjoy every single class
I have ever taken at your studio and do not know what I
would do if I did not have one of your classes to go to.
Not only are they powerful and test my patience, and my
emotional and physical strength...but THEY ARE FUN!!!! The
poses are fun to get into and the music you play really
matches the beat of the class. I have purchased many songs
on I-Tunes since starting yoga at your studio. I really
enjoyed the Friday night "Midnight yoga" and hope
one day you can bring it back. I also enjoy your readings
from Journey through the Heart by Melody Beattie. I have
been a fan of her books for years and listening to you read
one of her passages really completes a class for me. So
Sid, thank you for all your visions in building the "perfect"
yoga studio. I will be a "Sid yoga groupie" for
life.!Thank you for supporting my flow.

"I
first became acquainted with Sid when I was a student athlete
at Northern Illinois University where he was my wide receivers
coach. I truly believe much of my success during those four
years and later, as my dream of playing in the NFL became
a reality, stems directly from Sid's emphasis on enhancing
physical training through yoga - not just the X's s and
O's. It is no surprise that Lifeline Power Yoga has emerged
as a success in a variety of arenas. From an athletic standpoint,
Sid's program has contributed to my ability to perform at
the highest level. By stressing injury prevention and flexibility,
Lifeline Power Yoga focuses on the mental aspects of training
and the enhancement of the physical side. It teaches one
to use focus, concentration, and mental acuity to make one's
game complete. As a professional athlete I know I need to
utilize all effective tools that are available, and Sid
certainly lit that light in my head with his belief and
emphasis on yoga. Lifeline Power Yoga can work for anyone
who wants that extra edge that is necessary today in the
arenas of competitive sports or business."

"I
had some free time from studying for midterms and wanted
to thank you...for the work you did with me over the summer.
I am unable to replace you guys as my own yogi right now,
but when I do my simple and short practice sessions they
help me tremendously with re-energizing, focusing, calming,
and overall health. I am having a wonderful sophomore year
at Fordham University right now and part of that is owed
to you guys and our relationship over the summer. I've managed
to pull my way into being the fourth strongest rower in
the varsity lightweight eight, coming in behind guys with
at least 6 years of experience while I have 1, something
I previously did not even entertain but dismissed as impossible.
I feel that yoga played a very large role in being able
to accompish this. You guys are always in my mind wen encountering
other students who practice yoga and other teachers, and
when encountering the world with needless difficulty.
"You
have taught me more than how to bend and support and stretch
my body as I desire, but how to do the same with my mind,
spirit, and my life. Thank you for cracking the window that
I might continue to shatter and break through in aspiring
toward that healthy light of possibility; for offering me
the cup from which I may become drunk."
- Sam Lauber/ Fordham Crew Member
"Today
as I was sitting at my desk, I found myself getting wrapped
up in the madness of everyone else's unhappiness. This made
me think about my own life and I realized the last time
I was genuinely happy and healthy was when I was practicing
Yoga. So, I decided I was going to get my butt in gear and
go to a Yoga class by my house after work today. BIG MISTAKE.
I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time, this class was
so so SO awful! This class made me miss everything about
Yoga, including you...
"I
just wanted to thank you for everything, things that I didn't
even realize at the time. I work in Columbia now and am
living on the Eastern Shore. I really would LOVE to come
back! Can you send me a copy of your schedule, so I can
try and come after work. I work crazy hours, but I need
Yoga back in my life."
-Brooke Johns (Towson University Alum)
"I
own a studio in Queenstown New Zealand and had occasion
to catch one of Sids Power Vinyasa Classes back in Nov of
this year. I had been traveling a lot checking out yoga
teachers and studios in Boulder and Aspen Colorado as well
as several other well-known "Yoga towns" in the
US. Of the many classes and eachers I studied with over
the course of 7 weeks Sid was without doubt the best and
I wish to share a couple of observations about Sid as a
teacher. I hope you can use them on your site.
There
are several things that set Sid apart as a teacher that
really make a huge difference to me as a student. First
is his welcoming and open attitude. Then there was the difficulty
of the class. Yes it was hard, but I never thought that
Sids goal was to break the students down. This is something
I have experienced in numerous other studios with numerous
other teachers who are "trying" to deliver a hard
class. During a meeting with one teacher after her class
she said her goal is to try and break the
students! It is very dis-spiriting to catch a class where
rather then helping you to excel, to build you up from the
heart the teacher tries to grind you down. Sid's open, light
presentation of a physically demanding flow coupled with
his hands- on gentle adjustments was a thing of beauty to
behold. Especially important to me as a student and teacher
was the gentleness of the adjustments and the personal attention
to each student. I was a professional guide and climbing/kayak
teacher for 25 years and have some long-term injuries that
have been severely aggravated by overly aggressive adjustments.
Sids technique couldn't be more helpful, gently coaxing
and coaching my heart, mind and body to
deeper openings. As a teacher I applaud hia ability to give
to every student individually. Also as a teacher I was struck
by the beautiful and humorous story about generosity taken
from his own life and have told allof our teachers the story
he told us. We have all had a terrific laugh over it. The
story was delivered in pieces at key moments in the class
and I appreciated it throughout
the class.
In
finishing, Thanks for a great class and continuing inspiration.
If you are ever in New Zealand, come see us. You have a
place to stay and a studio to practice in.
Wishing you all the best with your new studio- Nice website!

".this
personal revolution came at a time when I really needed
to clear my head and kind of start over. I have let go of
some obsessive thoughts that were overrunning my life and
feel that I have gained so much knowledge from you both.
Not just from the PR, but from the classes. The journal
will also continue to be a great tool for me and my husband
to communicate. This added something to our marriage!"
