5-Month Teacher Training Immersions (200 hours)
A program that fosters students in training to immerse themselves into the world of yoga. This training is held exclusively at Lifeline Power Yoga’s foundation home in Towson, MD. Over the duration of the five months you will experience four weekend intensives that focus on assisting/yoga anatomy, posture alignments, yoga philosophy/LLPY philosophy, voice coaching, sequence training, and learning the business of yoga. Additionally, the student will complete our Empowerment and Beyond program over the first six weeks of the training course. Additional program requirements, such as Karma yoga duties, class assisting practicum, and the teaching internship will be completed on the students own schedule.
By completing this extended training at our studio, you will experience first hand support from other Lifeline Power Yoga teachers along your journey that will enhance your experience. You will gain access to practicing in Lifeline Power Yoga classes which will instill the teachings inside of you. Our 200hour Teacher Training is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School.
This extended program is also appropriate for students who do live outside of the area. The student would arrive in Towson for the four weekend intensives. Travel accommodations are to be made by the student. LLPY is here to help make any recommendations.
Weeklong Teacher Training Phases
Our weeklong Teacher Training immersions are condensed time-focused programs that are brought to studios and retreat centers around the world. The student commits to 7-10 full days of yoga trainings and yoga practicing.
200 hour weeklong trainings: Phase I and Phase II
Each week of training consists of 100 hours. Therefore, to complete our 200 hour training program, the student is to attend Phase I and Phase II. Your location of Phase I training, may be different from your location of Phase II training. In order to attend Phase II, Phase I training must have been completed. Or are you a current yoga teacher looking to master your skills, or a yoga student seeking to delve deeper in your practice? Our weeklong trainings are a great opportunity to capture these goals. Our 200hour Teacher Training is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School.
Phase I description
This program composes the first part of 200hour teacher training. The goal of this week is “Establishing power for yourself and others.” Students will be introduced to the foundations of assisting/adjusting, and be exposed to understanding the anatomy of yoga postures. Discussions on the Yoga Sutras and philosophy of our flow will teach students about the depth and versatility of practicing yoga. Students will be introduced to leading a class by receiving voice coaching, and learning sequencing basics. This weeklong session is an inward journey that brings the focus to the internal by recognizing where we hold back, and where we can break through.
Phase II description
Prerequisite: Phase I
This program is composed of the second part of 200hour teacher training, where students will know how to “Teach from a space of freedom.” Students will immerse more deeply into assisting techniques, and apply practical anatomy methods into the class room by understanding the differences within the body and how it relates to yoga. Philosophy will be discussed related to ancient yoga texts, and how these philosophical understandings can translate into classroom yoga teaching. The sequence training will be completed with mastering how to teach an inspiring all-levels class. As the theme of our trainings is “Live it to Give it”, we will use methods of Matrika yoga to recognize the reflections we carry, and empower ourselves to lead the change we wish to see.
500 hour weeklong trainings: Phase III and Phase IV
Phase III and Phase IV are each a 10-day program. Each breakout is 150 hours of advanced yoga teacher training. Phase III and Phase IV together are 300 hours of the next level of mastering your skills as a yoga teacher. Your location of Phase III training may be different from your location of Phase IV training. Completion of our 200hour program is necessary for acceptance to these advanced training sessions. However, if you have 200 hours of training with another yoga school, we will consider your admission upon receiving your application.
Phase III description
Prerequisite: 200 hour program completion.
Advanced training Part 1. 10-days to establish “Living in your power.” Advanced techniques in assisting and anatomy will allow the teacher to know the spirals of the body, how the body links as one to move, and the flow of internal energy as it moves through a sequence. Philosophy will focus on learning how to walk along the four directions, and communicating spirituality in your classes Teachers will teach mock clinics, and learn how to teach to masses. Advanced sequencing methods will be covered including teaching to the advanced student. Teachers will also take part in observing and assisting to teach some phases of the 200hour program.
Phase IV description
Prerequisite: Phase III
The final part of advanced training. 10-days to establish not only “Living in your power,” but also “Living your power for the world!” Content areas covered are using Thai Yoga therapy assisting techniques in the classroom, and speaking anatomy/energy in your teachings. Philosophy will cover speaking what resonates as your truth, and sharing your authenticity with your students, as you learn to teach a theme throughout a class. At this point your sequencing will be refined and mastered to teaching the flow to challenge and inspire all students. You will prepare to become a master teacher, leading others through the path of yoga. Teachers will also take part in observing and assisting to teach some phases of the 200hour program.
Because these training Phases are offered at various locations, the student can attend and combine their trainings at different sites. For site locations, please refer to our Teacher Training schedule. These breakouts are also geared for yoga teachers who have already completed trainings, and are looking for refreshers to enhance their teachings. The week training programs are also appropriate for students of yoga who are seeking a deeper experience into their yoga practice.
Teacher Training Post Program Assignments:
In order to received certification through Lifeline Power Yoga and graduation of our Teacher Training programs, post-training practicums and assignments are to be completed. These hours and experiences are for the trainee to practice what they learned during their training and apply them into practical settings. Once these post-program requirements are fulfilled and approved by the LLPYTT Board, the teacher will receive their certificate of completion.
